Ancon Station

Ancon Passenger station: This station, built between 1958 to 1960, was opened on the 28th of October of 1960, the same day that the last train departed from the second railroad station. This station was smaller than the predecessors, built almost at rush because the Remon- Eisenhower treaty needed to be implemented where the entirety of the railroad must run inside the Panama Canal Zone. This station was small, with a small office for tickets and a long-opened platform.
The station was located between the end of the Roosevelt (or Shaler) Avenue (today Ascanio Arosemena Avenue) and the Gaillard Avenue (today Omar Torrijos Avenue) parallel to the former Canal Zone laundry now the DIJ. Worked until the end of the 1980s. The deterioration of the structure and the tracks were key to stop using this station. By then, the passenger service decreased, and the few passenger services were started from the Balboa station.
